DR to Broadcast EHF Champions League Matches

In an agreement negotiated by Infront, the exclusive media rights holder for European club and national team handball, Danish broadcaster DR will be airing one match from each round of the competition. The inaugural match will be aired on DR2 this Wednesday, featuring GOG against RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko in the Machineseeker EHF Champions League.

Bringing Handball to Danish Fans

Anders Kern Boje, Deputy Director of DR News with responsibility for sports, expressed his excitement about the deal. “We are thrilled to offer handball enthusiasts in Denmark the chance to closely follow Danish club teams as they compete against other top European teams in the EHF Champions League. The tournament promises to be exciting throughout the season, with some of handball’s biggest stars competing in spirited arenas across Europe. We look forward to uniting many Danes around this for the next three seasons.”

Danish Teams in the EHF Champions League

The 2023/24 season sees five Danish teams participating in the EHF Champions League. Denmark boasts the highest number of participating teams on the women’s side, with Ikast Håndbold, Odense Håndbold, and Team Esbjerg competing. In the Machineseeker EHF Champions League, Denmark is well represented by GOG and Aalborg Håndbold.

Broadcasting Details

The EHF Champions League matches will be broadcast on DR1, DR2, and DRTV. In addition, all matches from the EHF Champions League and the EHF European League will also be streamed live on the new Nordic streaming service, handball-kanalen.tv.
